Ergonomics is the way a workplace is designed to ensure all employees can work comfortably and safely. It is important as it aims to protect employees from injury or harm and maintain their health and wellbeing. In doing so, ergonomics can lead to a more productive workforce and quality outcomes.
The course looks at chairs and lumbar support, footrests, and space and desk set-up among other things. It also explores how employees can ensure they set up their workstation as ergonomically as possible when working from home.
With a focus on inclusion, it also covers how employers can make the working environment more accessible to people with disability.
