Description

This module shows parents and guardians how to assist children and help them build resilience. Following psychologist Martin Seligman’s work, the module explores the principles of positive psychology and how children display or use these principles as they grow.

In addition to Seligman’s work, Building Resilience for Mental Wellbeing explores theories from other psychologists and how parents/caregivers can use them during teachable moments. Learners are also shown the importance of other factors to safeguard children’s mental health, including good nutrition, active lifestyles/exercising, and a supportive and nurturing environment. By combining this knowledge, learners begin to understand how they can moderate stressors in children and help children navigate a variety of situations to build resilience.
