Description

For every event in our life, we have a choice about how we’ll respond. It’s the choices we make that define our success. During challenging times, the choices we make either enable us to thrive or go into survival mode (the fight or flight or freeze response). When we choose to thrive, we build emotional resilience.

When we’re in survival mode, we may feel panicked, anxious, overwhelmed, flat, lack energy, make poor decisions, or worry a lot – all of which makes us feel ‘out of control’. When we are in ‘thrive’ mode, we pay attention to our emotional state, we don’t ignore how we feel but consciously shift our thinking and feelings so that we can get back into ‘flow’.

The purpose of this topic is to help you understand what emotional resilience is, why it’s so important and to also acknowledge that every emotion we experience is normal. It’s what we do with them and the strategies that we implement that will make the difference.
